Week 4 (Day 22-30): "Stability + safety baseline"
Set bill reminders (rent, utilities, phone) + avoid late fees
Late fees and overdraft charges will bleed you dry. Set up auto-pay for rent, utilities, and phone bills. Check your bank balance 2 days before each due date. A single missed payment costs you $35 in overdraft fees and damages your credit score. Automation is your friend.
Missing a payment can lead to "Late Fees." It also hurts your credit score. You must stay on top of your bills to save money.
- You can use your phone’s calendar or your bank's app to set reminders.
- Many companies (like Tello or Mint) let you set up "Auto-Pay." This means the money is taken out of your account automatically.
- Check your bank balance two days before a bill is due. Make sure you have enough money so the bank does not charge you an "Overdraft Fee" (a $35 penalty for spending money you don't have).
