3) Interview Mastery
Behavioral interviews (U.S. storytelling with STAR Method)
In the U.S., managers don't just ask what you know; they ask how you acted in the past. They use 'Behavioral Questions' like, 'Tell me about a time you failed.' Use the STAR Method: Situation (10% of your answer), Task (10%), Action—what exactly did YOU do, use 'I' not 'we' (60%), Result—use numbers if you can (20%). Show them you are a problem-solver who works well with others.
For higher-level roles or Consulting, you will face Case or System Design questions. These are big, messy problems like, "How would you design Instagram?" or "Should this company buy a new factory?"
- Break the big problem into tiny pieces. Start with the "Requirements" : who is using it and what do they need? Then, draw the "Architecture" . How do the pieces connect?
- Prove you can see the "Big Picture" and understand how different parts of a business or a system affect each other.
